I have short to medium hair and I want my hair long so it can be styled pulled half back with a veil on the back as well. Trouble is my hair grows way to slow and my wedding is in October. Should I try extensions for my big day? How do they work? Glued, sewn? What do you think, will it work?
I'm getting extention for my wedding too. if you are getting it sewn do it 3-5 days before the big day. since you have not gotten it before it will hurt. so get it in early so by the time your wedding come your scalp will be more comfortable for the styling the day of the wedding.
if you are getting it glue which is what im doing and alot easier and less painfull, you can get it done the day of the wedding and it will look more real since there wont be any buldge from the braids you get when the sew it. so glue is much better and easier to take off.
you will look beautifull. congrats
Go with extensions. Warning you though, it takes a long time to get all the pieces in so get them done a day or two before the wedding . Usually they're glued in. Extensions look good when they're done right.
That's great idea. Make sure you do it professionally and at least a few days before the D day to kind break it in. It takes hours to get a professional extension done. Plus it's expensive to do so. They're weaved to your roots. Pretty cool how they do it. Good luck.
There are three types of extensions. They can be glued in, sewn in, or you can buy ones that are attached to combs and can be slid into your hair.
I have the combs since I have lost alot of my hair bieng sick but don't need a wig. A talented hair dresser (or you with practice) can easily put in and remove these without the combs bieng seen at all. Mine are made of real hair and can be styled, dyed, etc. just like real hair. We got them from the beauty supply store like a Sally's. It was 50 for a pack of 8 that was four feet long and we trimmed them to the length I wanted.
If you are going to go with the weave (sewn) or the glued I would go with the sewn ones simply because I have seen alot of women with damaged hair from the glued ones. Talk to your stylist and see what she reccomends for your hair type. Both those types are expensive and do take a while to put in so shower the afternoon before and have them put in that afternoon or evening. You won't want to wash your hair with the extentions in.
Whichever you choose make sure you have it removed before the honeymoon. You really can't do a lot of water activities like swimming in the ocean with extentions in without them starting to look pretty bad.
you still have time to test them both out. try each of them to see which you like the best. because the wedding isn't until October, do one for one month, and then try the other after that. I do know that the glued is usually less expensive and does not last as long as the sewn. if you are going somewhere with lots of water for your honeymoon, paying the extra for the sewn might be worth the money.
I have started using extensions because my hair grows out faster when I'm not putting heat and things on it daily. The others are right in that gluing them is easier and less expensive. You just need to match your hair type and take the hair with you to your stylist. I recommend human hair just because it's easier to work with and looks more realistic. The sewing just depends on the person you get them done by. There are much less bulky ways to get it attached to your hair now but it will take longer and be more expensive. Be sure ask your stylist about the right products to use on your honeymoon and general maintenance of the hair if you are nervous. I haven't used the clips but they are the easiest method and the easist to remove.
They make extensions that you can clip in! I used them for my wedding and my hair looked great... I got them for $80 at one of those hair booths at the mall.
At first I wanted extensions but I thought they were a little pricey and sounded like a pain to have put in. So instead I bought clip in hair extensions and used them in an updo, it worked perfectly. I am sure it would work great with a half up style too. I bought them at a beauty supply store. Make sure to buy ones made with real hair close to your real color. That way you can have them dyed to match your own hair. Also someone told me to take prenatal vitamins to make my hair grow faster. I figured that it couldn't hurt. To tell you the truth though I don't even know if they helped. Good Luck!
I just bought the "Hair-Do" clip in extensions from Jessica Simpson and Ken Paves, and i LOVE them!!! It's comfortable, the perfect color and length, and the hair is already curled, so I wont have much styling to do on my wedding day! If you go to a salon, you will pay over $100 for them, so I suggest doing what I did, and buying them on ebay. I bought mine brand new in the box for $59.99. Hope that helps!
A friend of mine did and all was fine

omgg!!! definitely down..im jealous sweety..With great hair like that I would have to wear it down all the time....i would just do something like soft pretty curls..
get some dreadlocks, lol! they are cool.
I would just do soft ringlettes.
you have gorgeous hair and putting it up may not be a big 'wow' like you want.
Try this site: www.latest-hairstyles.com. They have a huge variety of pictures and advice on what you are looking for. Happy Wedding! :)
I am wondering how I should wear my hair. Here is a picture of the dress I am wearing: http://michelleandmark.blogspot.com ...
It is going to be outside and like 70 some degrees. It is in Michigan so that is probably going to change... lol
I have these dark blue heart shaped earings I am going to wear and some black stilettos with a flower detail...
My hair is about mid way down my back so it's really long and its thick It's a medium brown... I'm short so the dress is kinda long on me ... it's like mid calf length... but will be about knee length when i'm done editing it lol (im making it into a bubble hem)...
Oh, with this dress should I wear a bunch of long dangly necklaces or a tiffany heart necklace... or what kind of necklace.
Please include pictures of hair styles... and maybe how to do them... if it is intricate...
Thanks a bunch!
First off......no to the "bunch of long danly necklaces". For weddings, always try for "timeless elegance"
Simple is best. The pictures will last forever. (just look back at your 5th grade picture) Long hair looks good curly and pulled back in a low, loose ribbon or other clasp.
Im a bridesmaid at a wedding, i will be growing my hair just to my shoulder blades or thereabouts, what would be a nice style to have at the wedding. the dress is red and has thick straps going down into a V shape at the chest. My hair is dark brown.
if you have bangs... http://www.imdb.com/gallery/granitz/5762...
maybe take that picture and have a salon stylist give you something like that, loose curls and half up half down.
if you don't have bangs...
http://www.imdb.com/gallery/ss/0490084/b...
take that picture and have the stylist give you loose curls at the bottom.
loose curls is always pretty for formal events
Im getting married in August and its getting to the point where i need to make hair decisions i cant decide a little help is great.

I am wearing a tiara and a vile , spelling may be off.
OK if you go with #1 The up do remember one thing you have to have pictures taken beware of wisps the hair that is left down around your face and curls it will have to be touched up from time to time. and with a up do you want people to see your hair so make sure the veil is long enough to go from the back of your head to fully cover your face and easy to remove for some pictures because with a tiara you may want a princess look as well. I know this because I am looking at my wedding photo's and wishing someone told me this. lol Ok now if you go with #2 the down look now think it is summer and a August wedding may be hot. Are you going to be indoors or out and is there air conditioning? With that said it is a very pretty look but make sure the curls are tight because the heat and humidity may have a say in how well they stay in. Ask your hair stylist about a braid of love. It is a braid much like a french braid that goes in a heart shape on the outside of your hair and inside full of curls it might be called a bouquet of love not sure. But that it a cute wedding hairdo. I hope this helps I also liked #4 but it looked to plastered down with hair spray. Good luck and Congradulations to you and your new groom!!
#1 would look nice with a tiara and a veil. #2 looks almost exactly like my daughter had hers done for her wedding. She also had a tiara, but it didn't look right with this hairstyle. She just clipped the veil on, didn't use the tiara and it looked stunning. Good luck and best wishes!!
I'm getting married too!
I absolutely LOVE the second one!! It's beautiful and perfect!
#2
The second hairstyle is definitely the best. When your hair is down it shows more of your natural beauty as opposed to when it is up and formal. You want to be able to look back at your wedding photos and recognize you!
i like number 2 the best, very pretty. :)
I would suggest going to your normal stylist and having a consultation. During a consultation you can decide on the style and how the veil and tiara will work.
If you don't have a regular stylist, then ask some friend who they reccomend or ask on a local wedding bulletin board.
Another lower cost option is see if there is a local beauty school that can help you decide on a style. The stylists that do hair at most beauty school have already had most of their training and are not brand new on the floor. So they may have some fresh ideas (and one of them may even be available to come to your house and do your hair cheaper!)
Having your hair done for your wedding can be pricey BUT it is well worth it because with everything going on that is definitely something you don't want to worry about on your big day!
Good luck!
I was married at the end of July and found the heat was a big factor, I almost fainted from the heat.
So my advise would be to wear it up, otherwise with all the things you will be doing you will find your hair will become very wet from perspiration.
So of the choices you have in your question, the first one is too old fashioned, the second I just addressed.
The last two would be the best but between those I would choose the last one for you.
Congrats on your upcoming nuptuals!
I like #2 and #4. Do you usually wear your hair up or down? I saw a show on the style channel that recommended you not stray too far away from your natural look for your wedding....sort of a more beautiful YOU, instead of a pretty someone else.
Hope that helps!!!
Your hairdresser might be the best person to answer this, because even if you have beautiful pictures like these, your hairdresser is the only one who can help you do it..
It also depends on the dress you're wearing, if you are wearing an off-shoulder, it would be nice to put your hair up, to show off your shoulders, if you'd like.. A veil and tiara would be nice with an up-do.. Would also stay in place better as well.. Letting down your hair would be less-formal, it would be softer on your face as well.
Try to have a test-run of these styles with your hairdresser and maybe with your wedding gown as well and let your friends be the judge of this..
Congratulations and good luck!
Personally I like 1 and 2. You need to have the style done on you to see which ones look best on you.
My favorite is #2, next would be #1
Don't go to a beauty school to get your hair done for your wedding. I've done that a couple of times for halloween and they aren't good enough for a wedding. You should talk to your normal stylist. Just because you like the picture doesn't mean the style will look good on you. Your hair depends on what kind of gown and veil and tiara you're wearing. Also, do you ever wear your hair up? If you don't, I recommend something more like picture 2, half up half down. Also, there's nothing worse than an updo with those two stupid curled tendrils around the face, such a cliche and overdone. I wore my hair down and just pulled off my face when I got married. I wore my hair in an elaborate updo when I renewed my vows 11 years later. I get my hair done alot for black tie events and stuff so it wasn't unnatural to see me in an updo. You want to recognize yourself in your wedding pictures.
Love #2
I like #2 the best. #3 reminds me of a beehive from the 60s. :-) #1 %26amp; 4 are elegant though. Consult with your hair stylist first and see what she recommends. Maybe she can fix your hair that way ahead of time. And don't go anywhere near a beauty school for something important like a wedding.
First off I would like to congratulate you on getting married in August ...august is one of the hottest months of the year and with that in mind after looking at your pictures you chose I like #1 and #4 for a tiara and Vail ...the Question is what will the bride be happy with try consulting your mom sister ,mother in law to be or an aunt or cousin but in the end it will come down to what you like best and usually the girl who does your hair can also help and advise you whats best for the shape of your face and what looks good with your gown too..Best of Luck....
1 and 4 look very similar and are the ones I would go with.
2 with the half-up half down look is very pretty but I wonder how comfortable you will be dancing with your hair on your neck all night. I dunno...for me its much cooler to have it up and out of the way. If you think you won't be botherd by having hair in the way I love number 2.
I don't like 3 with that thing right on the top of your head...especially with a veil and tiara.
Hair style #2 is my choice. It looks romantic, flowing and beautiful. The other styles look too complicated and fake.
I like th e first one.
PS- vail
I like #2, but I would also take the kind of dress you are wearing into consideration. I wore a strapless gown with a veil and tiara. I wore my hair down as well. The fact that my husband loves it down also played into my decision. I wanted to look good for him and since he loved my hair out I choose that style. Good luck.
i love and think number 1 is going to make it
any of them but number 4
Number 1 if you have a more traditional type dress. Number 2 if you are in a strapless.
My hair length in 2 inches below my shoulders. I want to wear it down. But don't know what to do with it! Please Help!!!!!!!!
Depends on your face shape but i personally like that length curled with large barrel curls.....a little bit tighter than a loose wave. Then I like some of the front pieces lightly pulled back. If you want to wear a veil you then could where any head piece where ever you choose. If you do, make your veil and headpiece detachable if you are wearing a veil. This way you can have your hair done and have your hairdresser place your tiara / and veil too if you like or you can put the veil on right before and take it off later without messing up your hair. Another little tip. If you are wearing a veil and want it to look positioned a certain way. When you get it exactly the right way you can lightly spray it with aerosol hair spray. (If you want it to have a little volume on top - would be the only reason to spray it) It doesn't show up on the veil either. Congrats! Also if you have bangs I think they look best worn to the side, if not even better with this style.
go to a hairdresser
Shave everything off, and I mean EVERYTHING. Your new hubby will love it.
look at magazine and save pics of your favoirte stars and practice with your hair dresser
Did you ever think of going to a beauty salon and get a professional stylist to do your hair?
straighten it out and get a cute pin and wear it on your hair...or you can get a little ponytail to the back of your head and leave the other hair down...but if you want to wear it down it's ok or just wear it your natural way...sometimes natural means beautiful whichever way you feel comfortable.Happy Styling!!
Well get the front of your hair pull it back into a bun and the rest of it'll be down. Or if that doesn't work go to a hair stylist or if you want some experience email my 20 yr old sis at cutesmartstupid@yahoo.com she's great at hair.
Go meet 5 professional hair stylist in your area and take their suggestions. You are bound to get started with exceleent ideas.
Go to a hairdresser - she'll know what to do - but, don't let her shave it off :)
Leave it up, real pretty, and enjoy your special day.
Go to a salon and have them try out a couple different styles. Most stylist will do this for you if book them for your wedding. You can also take it pictures to help them. Be sure to take a picture of the style you like, so she can make it look the same.
You could put your hair half up. Just pull back a little bit of hair on both side up to the back. You could also do spiral curls or completely straighten your hair.
It also depends on the style you want to portray at your BIG day. If it's a classic look, you should put a few waves in your hair. You can never go wrong with big curls, either. But whatever you do, don't decide to color your hair days before the big day because you risk the dye not being how you want it and you're basically screwed.
Depending on your vail...most long hair styles are done in a spiral, wavy style. Or the sides are normally pulled back away from the face, which shows your profile much better for pictures. But if you want a more elegant look, wearing it up in curls, cascading down to your shoulders is beautiful. Hope this helps, and many happy years together.
Go to a stylist. But I suggest that you don't do anything crazy or elaborate! Simple is better! Less to go wrong! Ya know no curls falling out, or updos falling down! maybe a little braid around each side. A lot depends on what type of head gear you are wearing.
-Up and watch those annoying long bangs (my granddaughter's words). She went against her instinct and tried something new AND decided it woud look nice to have her bangs a little longer and not trimmed. Every picture, movie we have seen of the wedding she focuses on the hair - she wishes she had:
--didn't try anything fancy or new - should have left it the way she is most comfy and that is the way her now husband met her and fell in love with her
--bangs too long
--she had the hair highlighted day before - not good (she said)
Bottomline, go to the hairdresser at least 2/3 times before the wedding. Have pictures taken with your digital camera. Keep them all in the camera. Then watch on the largest TV screen you can - and you will see what is the best.
--remember to take whatever you are going to wear on your head to the hair dresser.
--if you are getting highlights or hair coloring, do it on the first visit.
-- you didn't mention, but my granddaughter wore the most comfy shoes she could find - flats! - nobody can see them under the wedding dress - she was so happy and comfy...and she started wearing them around the house a month before the wedding.
and last but not least, as a planner many a wedding for family and friends - THIS will be the most important day in your life besides the day when your children are born. BE Happy, DON'T sweat the little stuff. Pick your battles....be happy and have wonderful memories of this special day (and DON't go out on a hen party the night before - spend that evening with all the women family members - remember, watch a movie, eat popcorn - have fun! - enjoy your loved ones as soon you will start a new life.
If you want to let it down, put some soft curls to it. Most brides put their hair up so that flowers or other hair decorations can go on your hair. It's up to you how you want to wear your hair to make your day beautiful.
