I want to wear my hair curly for a wedding. What style should I go for?

I have shoulder length light brown hair with blonde highlights. I always wear it straight when I'm going out, but i fancy a change so I've booked in my hairdressers to get it curled on Saturday morning. I have a heart shaped face and I don't really know what style would suit me.

Also am i better getting it done with the tongs or heated rollers (I haven't got time to get it done with GHDs) ? Which would be most likely to stay in all day?

Any advice welcome!!! Thanx!

There are a lot of "what if's" here.

I don't know if you live in a humid climate or what but usually for something like a wedding it's best to go with the curling iron. Honestly (and from a hairdressers point of view) it would be even better to find a picture and go in a day or two before the event to just chat a few minutes with him or her about what you think you want. That way it's not so stressful when you go in there the morning of in a hurry and leave unhappy because you didn't have time to get your ideas across.

That said, It all depends on how much effort you want to spend on it after you leave the hair stylist. If you don't mind keeping a small bottle of hairspray in your bag...i think just wearing it half up with a pretty clip is a very nice look for the summer(however if your going to be dancing the night away, it might fall and stick to the back of your neck). If you don't want to mess with it at all or if it's a very fancy evening wedding then i suggest wearing it all up. If your going to wear it super curly then your stylist can probably just start pinning pieces back and have it look lovely. I'm not a fan of having it all swept back (especially if you have a heart shaped face) the look is very severe and very few people can pull it off. I suggest a side bang (or a fake one if you don't have bangs) and then just have your stylist finger comb the curls back and pin them up. it's an easy going style that looks very nice for many occasions. Like i said in the beginning, it all just depends on the environment you'll be in and how well you communicate to your stylist.

I would say go for soft waves rather than actual curls. The hairdresser will know what to use, I would suggest taking a picture in. This one is good:

i would have to suggest tongs in my experience heated rollers are pretty crap and the curls dont hold as well!!!! just make sure you use plenty of hair spray before and after you use the tongs!!! if your looking for speed GHDs are much quicker than tonging your hair dresser will be able to do it in half the time, as you have a heart shaped face almost any style will suit you!!!! good luck

I would try this... they've got a pretty cool updo gallery section. http://www.the411onhair.com/updos.html hope that helps you out with trying to find the right look for you. You might also want to try the contact us link if you have any other questions.

i think that an updo would be very classy for this event. it will be easy for you to maintain during the evening. just tease a little here and there and add a little shot of hairspray every couple hours.

your hair is not long enough to pull to really curl that much. they will have to do more smaller spiral curls . i am not sure you will like it as well.
