I need wedding shoes that wont make me tower over my fiance! Anybody know where I can find some shor

My fiance is 5'8''-5'9'' and boxy and I am 5'7.5'' and very skinny so if we're standing next to each other the way I'm built makes me look taller than him as it is on a normal day. We're getting married and I have my dress ordered but it already comes up off of thee floor without any shoes on. I can MAYBE go up to two inch heels MAX!!! Plus I cant realy wear anything bigger than that b/c or my fiances hight and build. I know with my shoes and hair I dont want to tower over him like a monster!!! I just think that looks weird...on the other hand I dont want to sacrifice style and quality because I'm tall!!!

Can anyone please tell me good places to look for 1-2 inch heels that are still stylish sexy and/or cute??? I need to find something that still has a "wow" factor (yes my shoes need a "wow" factor) but is still low. Please no flip flops or slippers. My dress is VERY formal and I need shoes to match! Thanks in advance for any help!!!

That's tough...usually 1-2in shoes are mules...so then you "clomp, clomp, clomp" down the aisle. I'm about the same height as my husband...and I decided to wear lime green ballerina flats. They were nice, not flip-flop with fake flower crap and completely COMFORTABLE. They were by Guess (from Nordstroms) and had lime green gems on the top---my colors were orchid green and *******. But I just got back our proofs and he is just a little bit taller than me...so mission accomplished. (I don't know if you're considering ballerina flats slippers.) Also, if you have photos outside be cautious of stilettos and sinking into the grass. This is a strange place to look, but Target bridal (on line)...I know, but they do have bridal shoes and they aren't that bad. The other place I would try would be some on line ballroom dance stores. They usually have 1-2 in heels and have straps so they will definitely stay on.

Why not purchase white satin jazz or white ballet shoes. They are reasonably priced and very stylish.

also maybe there are shoe repair shops in your area that you can get the store to cut and lower the heal or replace the heal on a favorite pump for the occasion

You might consider a dressy pair of flats- simple can look nice with leather soles. Either that or just don't worry about it.

Consider getting shoes with a kitten heel. There are also mules and slingbacks, and depending on the colors and styles, can look very elegant.

i bought my shoes at Payless, the dye able kind. they had a lower kind of heel, some were less than 2 inches plus they were reasonably priced.

How about a pair of totally NON CASUAL bejeweled/beaded flats?

Or a very short heeled strappy shoe in silver, with lots of glitz and shine that wouldn't take away from the dress, wouldnt make you tower, but would still have that 'formal wow factor' you're looking for?

i just got married in may and the really popular wedding shoe is called the wedding slipper. you wont really see them anyway so you dont need a sexy pair of strappy heels. plus wedding slippers is probably the only way to not look taller than your husband in your pictures since i assume you have an updo picked out for your hair

You're in luck, because right now there are some pretty spectacular flats and very low heels on the market. They're actually (pardon the pun) the height of fashion, so it won't look like you're uncomfortable with your small height difference but more in tune with the current trends. Take a look at a couple of these and see if you find something you like. Most of them also carry low (1-2") heels as well as outright flats.

Since your skirt is hemmed a bit off the floor, you might even consider matching your shoes to your wedding colors, if that sounds fun to you. I actually wore a pair of bright red Scottish dancing ghillies, and they looked wonderful peeking out from my skirt.

Whatever you do, make sure your shoes are comfortable. After all, you're going to be on your feet all day. Even though my husband is a foot taller than I am, I'm really glad I chose flat shoes for my wedding. Not only did I not wind up with my heels sinking in the ground (it was an outdoor wedding), but my feet, legs and back still felt great when we left our reception.

You can find shoes with low heels anywhere that sells shoes. I'm sorry, maybe i'm dense, but I honestly don't see what the problem is. Walmart, Kmart, payless, shoe carnival, the mall, sears, jcpenney, dillards, ross, kohls, tj maxx.

I know these aren't very "wow", but I love them. The heel is 1 1/2 inches with a leather sole and very comfortable. Since they are Coloriffics, you can dye them afterwards to use again, which is always cost effective than having dust collector wedding shoes.

I'm in the same boat as you are. I'm 5'8" and my fiance is 5'9". I got these shoes at the Wedding Accessory Superstore in Phoenix. I found them online for you. The heel is very short, but it still looks elegant because it is thin, not the clunky ugly ones most low heels have. Also, the straps that go over the toes are really pretty. I would highly recommend these. They look really beautiful on!!!
