The last wedding I went to (last May), I wore my hair in a low (nape of the neck) pony tail. I first parted my hair in a pretty dramatic side part, either side is okay, and then slicked it back loosely to the nape of my neck. Use a neutral (hair colored) elastic to hold the pony tail together and then pull a piece (1/2" thick) of hair from the bottom side of the elastic-ed ponytail, wrap it around the elastic, and tuck it into the underside of the elastic. This covers the elastic and makes a really simply style look finished. You can wear some really pretty earrings and a nice necklace and you'll look sophisticated and classy.
