Did you have a hair consultation before your wedding?

I'm trying to justify spending double on my hair style just to have a hair consultation.. but I am not sure if it's really necessary for me? I could see how it might be if you have a veil or other accessories..

The only thing I will have in my hair is a couple of flower hair pins once the style is done.

Is there anyone else who didn't have one and was happy with that, or somebody who did and thought it wasn't necessary? Thanks!

Trust me it is worth it to get the trial. Most of the time they do not charge as much for the trial as they do for the day of the wedding. Some places include the trial in their overall price.

Believe me, the last thing that you want is to not like your hair on your wedding day. If you don't like it the day of the trial then they can play around with it and get it how you want...the day of the wedding you are on a time crunch so you are going to either have to deal with the hairstyle or be late to your wedding to try and fix it.

Spend the extra money...I'm glad that I did because the way she first had my hair looked awful!!!

I personally just plan on haveing the hairstylist lady that has ALWAYS done my hair for every occasion. If you have someone like that that you trust with that important day I would just let them do their thing. Or ask your hairstylist their suggestions and then mention that to who ever you hire to do your hair.

Good luck!

I had a friend do my hair, and we did have a trial run before the wedding. This way, you don't have to make decisions on the day of the wedding about how the hair should or should not be. Not to mention you will get a feel for how that person will handle your hair.

I'm having a hair consultation to pick out which hairstyle i like. But afterwards i'm going to go have my bridal portrait taken, so my hair will be really nice in the picture. It kind of kills two birds with one stone right?

I also think it depends on which hairstylist you go with because my girl is going to do the consultation for free! Maybe you could tell her you'll have all your bridesmaids get their hair done with her too and she might give you a discount.

I would think if you're going for a style vastly different from your everyday style, it might be worth it for you, but if you're wearing basically the same style you typically do, I wouldn't bother. I'm getting my haircut the day we're leaving town for our destination wedding! I've been going to this woman for years, and she's excellent, and my hair looks best with a fresh haircut!

i had one and i went through three different styles wit the girl i would get one you do not want to deal with that the day of your wedding!

most salons will include a consultation in the cost of wedding updos. if not, go somewhere else.

I did not have one and was glad I didn't. My stylist said that the only people who should get one are the people who have no clue what they want because they might run out of time the day of the wedding choosing something. It's a racket by the stylists to get extra money out of people really. It seems like you know what you want. You don't need one.

Wow your hair stylist is charging you for the consultation? The salon at JC Penney is where I am having mine done and the consultation where they do it to see if you like it is for free, not to mention that an updo is less than $100.00 there. I would check around.

the trial is worth it

Did you have a hair consultation before your wedding?

I had a hair trial a few weeks before my wedding. Due to circumstances beyond my control I only got the one trial. My hair came out OK at the trial, but the day of my wedding it looked completely not like the trial. I hated the way she did it, but there was no time to change it. So a trial is no guarantee..but it's nice to get idea of what you hate or love.

Did you have a hair consultation before your wedding?

i didnt as i got married 112 miles away from our home, this was the one thing i was worried about as had picture of style, but the hairdresser did a bloody fantiastic job

I would recommend having the trial run. On your wedding day you are going to have so many things to do and be on such a tight timeline, that there probably will not be time to redo it if you don't like it. Have you checked with your salon to see what is included in their bridal prices? A lot of times the price includes a consultation and trial hairstyle, and in other cases it is only $10-15 extra. Be sure to check and see what they offer, but I would recommend it!
